The Turn of the Screw

The American premiere of contemporary French playwright Fabrice Melquiotfs haunting tragedy is set during the war in ex-Yugoslavia. Lorko, a Christian, falls in love with and marries Elma, a Muslim. As the war breaks out, Melquiot shows us the pressures on their love, their families, and the crumbling world around them in a style that seamlessly blends expressionism, poetry, fantasy, and harsh, raw reality. Named gTheatrical Discovery of the Yearh in France. Our production extended twice, and toured to New Yorkfs PS 122 in 2007.
