Tony Kushner's adaptation of the Corneille classic follows an old man seeking absolution into the cave of the magician Alcandre. He finds a mystical world, inhabited by odd creatures and frightening illusions. A comedy of fairy-tale simplicity evolves into a rich, layered tragedy. Our dark physical production sold out a six week run, and was remounted at Marin Theatre Company.
